Young People's Records

More WLGS finds. Two selections from the Young People's Records label with fantastic vintage cartoon cover art. "Let's Play Zoo" and "Animal Supermarket". The first is signed "Ajay". Anyone know anything about this artist?

There was an artist named Abe Ajay, that started out in commercial art before he moved on to collage and mixed media. The time frame would be right, but I'm not sure this is your guy. Something is very familiar about the style of the cover...

I greatly enjoyed Young People's Records as a child. I have a copy of "The Birth of Paul Bunyan". The record cover is also signed "Ajay."

Abe Ajay is the often unsigned artist of the majority of the YPR And CRG covers, according to the book "Revolutionizing Children's Records" by David Bonner. Bonner has a blog here;
